Firmware developers with a purpose

Who We Are

Our History

Telco NetDev Solutions (Pty) Ltd (“Telco NetDev”) was founded by Thabiso Sekhoto, one of South Africa’s most respected embedded hardware and integrated software developers. He has 15 years of experience as an innovation engineer where he has been involved in the development of telemetry systems, banking systems – most notably the Standard Bank Blue mobile banking app, the design of a Banking ATM machine as well as fleet management and meteorological sensor systems for the Council for Industrial and Scientific Research. Thabiso has an extensive range of skills in web development and is proficient at numerous programming languages, studios and web technologies including C#, C/C++, Java, Android Studio, Eclipse and ASP.NET.

Our mission

We are passionate about bringing better firmware process and platforms to companies that support the upliftment of South Africans.

The company is proud to have been selected to work on embedded projects that are globally significant not only in the technical improvements they bring but the social impact they affect. The company is particularly excited to be working on hardware that will bring about an improvement to the antiquated Longley-Rice formula which predicts path losses in Wi-Fi networks. It will be developing a network of multiple IoT devices for local environmental data inputs against signal strength.

It is confidence that the importance of this first project will bring it the recognition it deserves to win larger embedded software projects.

OUR INNOVATION

We pride ourselves in the work we do to push embedded software development forward. We have identified a number of critical areas where persisting challenges impede the advancement of firmware to cope with the rise of Internet of Things, Web3 and other waves of game changing tech.

Our current R&D testing includes mobile phone Custom OS development to cater for low end devices. We have a large focus on Television White Space (TVWS) as a means to provide rural connectivity and our team is working on enhancing TVWS Spectrum Efficiency Gain as well as a scanner monitor. Our intention is to construct a mesh of Low Power Wide Area Networks associated with LoraWAN.

We are also engrossed in robotic tech for use in telecommunications ducting and are currently developing intuitive software for the purpose of duct robot self-navigation in order to detect and pinpoint damaged fibre cables.
